We slept in until after 9:00 am. A total surprise to us. In the cabin we were hiden from the sun so that had something to do with it. But the main reason was that it rained last night, pretty hard, so I think subcosiously we didn't want to get up and hike in the rain. I guess it was a good thing that we blew $150 on the cabin.

We had a worderful breakfast at the resort. Then a great hike. The rain washed the forest. Everything was moist and fresh. The trail was not dusty at all. Everything smelled wonderful. We hiked 2 miles to return to the PCT and then 13 more miles on the PCT. And we had a very late start (11am). So we seem to be doing better than our first few days.

This area is a full on forest. We may be hiking on the crest but you would'nt know it most of the time cause the forest blocks the view. Normally this is not the kind of trail that I perfer, but the trail is so "soft" (easy, smooth, wide) that the hiking is really fun.

One problem is that we are encountering lots of mesquitos. Today, while pumping water they swarmed as bad as in the high serrias. After we cooked tonight, we set up our tent for the first time this trip to aviod the misquitos and another rain storm.
