So, we made it to our second food drop. What a day. Longest hike so for this trip: about 20 miles. We got pased by lots of PCTers at the end of the day. Most of them passed us during our last break. We were having snow cones at a snow patch and throwing snow balls. It turned out that we were only about a mile from the highway and two miles from the campground.
When we got to the campground (a State run campgroung with all facilities), it was full. A set of PCTers got the last site. And they could not share it cause of the limit on the number of people per site. As we were asking about what to do, a reallly nice guy offered to let us stay with his family. It turned out that they had a extra one that the park would not refund. Turns out a lot of PCTers couldn't get a site and had to hike on.
So, time to take stock. I am hiking pretty good. About the same as a week or two into last years. I don't seem to have problems with my knees or feet. No blisters which is amazing, compaired to Ken and Wes. No rashes. Lots of ichy bug bites. My back is really sore and tired tonight--pretty much for the first time this trip. My real problem is digestion. I have nausea as I hike... and bad heart burn. So far I haven't been able to shake it.
So at this point, about a quarter of the way through, I thought it would be clear if I could make it all the way or not. But it is not clear. Still have to take it day by day. Praise God that I am here at all.
