We started hiking at 8:00 am. Did 10 miles to get to a spring that was 0.3 miles off the trail and a 400 foot climb down. Ken and Wes went for the water while I stayed behind and ate lunch. They did not look happy when they returned 45 minutes later.

One thing to note is the green moss on the trees. It is very wispy, starts about 10 feet up and grows all the way to the top on one side. Very distinctive. It makes the trees appear like they have green beards, and are very old.
