PCT 2012, Day 41 -- 6/10/12

Summary   Prev   Next

So today I finished the PCT. It took about two hours of easy hiking. Since in my mind I really was done with all the hard parts yesterday I wasn't really excited most of the hike. But when I was at the bridge at the end I was thrilled. I walked across the road and stepped on the section that I did with Wesley last year, and with that I fully completed the entire trail, putting my foot on almost very yard of the entire 2,658 miles.

That was at 8:30 this morning. I took a few pictures and then walked to the Kennedy Meadows Store. There, they were serving breakfast to 50+ hikers. Since many knew my situation I got an ovation and lots of congratulations.

I bought breakfast and hung out with many of the people that I met along the way.

One special treat was looking through the PCT log book at the store and finding Kenneth's entry of 2005. I added mine in 2012.

So now I am ready to go home... Just waiting for Carol to pick me up. I am so happy. One of my life's goals is complete.
